玉米纤维Corn Fiber(聚乳酸纤维，PLA纤维) 

　　是以玉米淀粉为原料，经发酵转化成乳酸再经聚合，纺丝而制成的合成纤维。

　　此纤维具有生物可降解性，玉米纤维轻柔滑顺，强度大，吸湿透气，加工的产品有丝绸般的光泽及舒适的肌肤触感和手感，悬垂性佳，良好的耐热性及抗紫外线功能，服用性能好。

　　PLA纤维是以淀粉制得之乳酸为原料，属于完成自然循环型，具有生物降解性的纤维。该纤维完全不使用石油等化工原料，其废弃物在土壤和海水中的微生物作用下，可分解成二氧化碳和水，不会污染地球环境。由于该纤维的初始原料为淀粉，其再生之循环周期短，大约为一至二年，其产生的二氧化碳可由植物光合作用减少在大气中的含量。燃烧PLA纤维，几乎没有一氧化氮，其燃烧热是聚乙烯和聚丙烯的三分之一左右。

    聚乳酸纤维是以人体内含有的乳酸作原料合成的乳酸聚合物，对人体而言是安全的。经测试，以玉米纤维制成的圆形针织布不会刺激皮肤，且对人体健康有益，并有舒适感。

PLA纤维有许多突出的优点：
（1）原料来自于天然植物，容易生物降解，降解产物是乳酸、二氧化碳和水，是***环保型可降解聚酯纤维。
（2）有较好的亲水性、毛细管效应和水的扩散性；
（3）模量和弯曲刚度是涤纶一半，故手感柔软；
