    汽车行业的快速发展带动了热塑性弹性体市的高速发展。

    热塑性弹性体（TPE）具有硫化橡胶的物理机械性能和热塑性塑料的工艺加工性能。由于不需经过热硫化，使用通用的塑料加工设备即可完成产品生产。这一特点使橡胶工业生产流程缩短了1/4，节约能耗25%~40%，提高效率10倍~20倍，堪称橡胶工业又一次材料和工艺技术革命。

    今年来随着国内同国际日益交往的频繁，国内一些TPETPR的生产厂家也开始向着无卤阻燃这方面发展，这对于中国乃至世界都起着较为深远的影响。

TPE的优点：

    1. 可用一般的热塑性塑料成型机加工，不需要特殊的加工设备。

    2. 生产效率大幅提高。可直接用橡胶注塑机硫化，时间由原来的20min左右，缩短到1min以内；由于需要的硫化时间很短，因此已可用挤出机直接硫化，生产效率大幅提高。

    3. 易于回收利用，降低成本。生产过程中产生的废料（逸出毛边、挤出废胶）和最终出现的废品，可以直接返回再利用；用过的TPE旧品可以简单再生之后回收利用，减少环境污染，扩大再生资源来源。

    4. 节能。热塑性弹性体大多不需要硫化或硫化时间很短，可以有效节约能源。以高压软管生产能耗为例：橡胶为188MJ/kg，TPE为144MJ/kg，可节能达25%以上。

    2. 应用领域更广。由于TPE兼具橡胶和塑料的优点，为橡胶工业开辟了新的应用领域。 　　

    3. 可用于塑料的增强、增韧改性。自补强性大，配方简化，配合剂对聚合物的影响制约小，质量性能更易掌握。但TPE的耐热性不如橡胶，随着温度上升而物性下降幅度较大，因而适用范围受到限制。同时，压缩变形、弹性回复、耐久性等同橡胶相比较差，价格上也往往高于同类橡胶。尽管如此，TPE的优点仍十分突出，各种新型的TPE产品也不断开发出来。作为一种节能环保的橡胶新型原料，发展前景十分看好。
